Each burn after, allow your melt pool to reach the edge of the container before extinguishing. This will prevent tunneling and increase your candle's scent throw. 2. Trim the wick To prevent fire hazards remember to trim the wicks about 1/4" of the way after the initial burn. Black smoke, fast flickering, and a tall flame are an indication that your wick is too long. It is recommended to keep the candle burning for no more than 4 hours for great results and safety. 3. Break out the candles Before extinguishment, please use tools to diffuse candle core into wax oil, which can reduce smoke generation. Do not blow it out directly with your mouth, which will not only damage the candle, but also produce black smoke to turn the fragrance into a smoke flavor. When 1/4" of wax is left over, we would suggest you discontinue use and repurpose the beautiful jar. 4.
